SALT LAKE CITY – August 14, 2006 – The National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA) presented Garth M. Tebay with the “Outstanding Member Award” at the Thirteenth Annual Consultants’ Conference in San Francisco, CA.
The “Outstanding Member Award” recognizes Mr. Tebay’s work in 2005 for his exceptional contributions in support of NACVA’s mission and in achieving national prominence. Additionally, Mr. Tebay was recognized for the second time since 2002 as "Instructor of Great Distinction." In prior years, he was awarded "Instructor of Exceptional Distinction" in 2003 and 2004.
Garth was elected by NACVA’s membership in 2005 to join the Ethics Oversight Board (EOB) and is now serving a 3-year term. The EOB operates under the direction and discretion of NACVA’s Executive Advisory Board (EAB), and is charged with the monitoring of NACVA’s membership with regards to ethical and professional standards. The EOB’s responsibilities include creating policies for EAB approval, and educating, monitoring and enforcing compliance. The EOB’s duties also include recommending standards, facilitating awareness and enhancing the membership’s understanding of NACVA’s standards, and when necessary investigating and determining whether a member or members have violated NACVA’s Standards.
Garth joined NACVA's instructor team five years ago and it wasn’t long before he moved into a leadership role. This year Garth was instrumental in coordinating a tremendous team effort updating our Business Valuation Certification Training Center’s courses entitled, "Business Valuations: Fundamentals, Techniques & Theory," and "Business Valuations: Applications and Calculations of the Income and Asset Approaches." In addition to his teaching role, Garth has provided substantial support as an elected member to the Ethics Oversight Board, giving him an opportunity to facilitate awareness of NACVA's Professional Standards and ensure there are no violations. "We are fortunate to have Garth represent this organization,” said Pam Bailey, NACVA's Executive Director.
