David M. Braitsch
Senior Advisor, Focus, LLC
Prior to joining FOCUS, Senior
Advisor David Braitsch was the former Director of Intellectual Property
Asset Management for the Eastman Kodak Company, a (founding) member
of Kodak’s Licensing Group, and previously served as Manager
for Intellectual Property for R&D.
Mr. Braitsch is an experienced
leader of successful intellectual property initiatives with a demonstrated
ability to work with multiple parties, organizations and large and
small corporations to resolve mutual issues and generate value.
He has extensive experience in portfolio management, licensing,
buying and selling patents, patent valuation and licensing opportunity
development, and has supported patent litigation activities, formulation
of transactional strategies and development of tactics for responding
to external assertions. He has a demonstrated ability to design
and implement enterprise-wide solutions and processes that withstand
time and organizational change.
Before becoming active in Licensing and Intellectual Property Management,
he held several senior management positions in both Kodak’s
Consumer Imaging Business and R&D organizations including 7
years residence in Europe as Associate Director and subsequently
Director of Kodak’s European Photographic Research Labs located
in France, England and Germany.
Mr. Braitsch holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of
Florida and was an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the University
of Rochester.
His professional affiliations include the Licensing Executive Society
as co-chair of the LES Rochester Section, and the Rochester Intellectual
Property Law Association. He has given numerous talks at local and
national conferences and most recently chaired the IP Law Summit
conference on Patent Licensing and Litigation Strategies.
