David Engel

Dave Engel has played key financial, operational and corporate development roles in a broad range of industries including financial services, specialty chemicals and wholesale distribution. He has held senior management positions that have included CFO/COO, VP Finance/Corporate Development and General Manager. While directing the M&A activity of a large bank holding company, he successfully executed numerous acquisition and divestiture strategies. Demonstrating an ability to deal effectively with regulatory agencies, he engineered and closed a number of merger transactions that delivered significant improvement to parent company net book value.

Dave has a track record of leading senior management teams in the development of innovative solutions to complex business issues. He has led corporate reorganizations, developed restructure plans, negotiated distribution channel agreements and advised business owners on succession planning. Dave brings senior financial management perspective and a hands-on approach to Malibu’s M&A advisory practice.

As a Principal at Malibu, Dave has responsibility for addressing and anticipating client needs on a day-to-day basis while providing strategic leadership and insights regarding business valuation, acquisition and divestiture. He is a Cincinnati native with an undergraduate degree in accounting from Miami University and an MBA from Xavier University.
