Rick Heyke
Managing Director, The Chicago Corporation

Rick Heyke has over twenty-five years' experience in domestic and international corporate finance and fifteen years' experience as a transactional and regulatory lawyer. Prior to The Chicago Corporation, he was a Managing Director of Focus LLC, a firm specializing in financial consulting and M&A advisory services to private and closely-held middle market companies.

Rick spent most of his investment banking career at three major bracket firms where he handled mergers, unilateral tender offers, management buy-outs, private equity transactions, private debt placements, public stock offerings, high grade and high yield debt issues, cross-border transactions and project financings. His clients ranged from large multinational corporations such as Ingersoll-Rand, St. Joe Minerals, KLM and Mitsui & Co. to small companies trying to grow.

At Smith Barney he functioned as corporate finance department domestic and international trouble shooter to close deals that were unlikely to close and turn around troubled client relationships; he also ran European corporate finance and headed up Japanese operations during his years there.

Rick also worked for six years at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington DC where he was involved in the reduction of the banking system's non-interest bearing reserves against deposits from $33 billion to $7 billion. For nine years at Winston & Strawn LLP, he handled securities issues, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, private equity and domestic and international project finance transactions (including bankruptcy support) and advised on bank and securities industry regulatory matters.

Rick received a B.S. in Physics magna cum laude from Yale University and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School with a concentration on finance and international business and a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School.
