Managing Director, Asher
Stephen I. Johnson, Rear Admiral, U.
S. Navy, (retired), is a Managing Director of Asher based
out of San Diego, California. RADM Johnson has over 18 years experience
in senior leadership and program management for high technology
programs, directing people and managing resources in acquisition
of U.S. Navy information systems, commercial software development
and value growth consulting. RADM Johnson retired from U.S. Naval
Service in 1999 with the rank of Rear Admiral, U.S. Navy. Prior
to joining Source, RADM Johnson was the founder of SBS Consulting,
Inc., a San Diego, California disabled-veteran-owned business providing
strategic planning, senior program management, subject matter expert
and marketing consulting services to commercial customers and government
organizations. As Vice President of Integration Partners, Inc. from
1999 to 2001, RADM Johnson supervised DoD and commercial project
program managers in the development of custom advanced expert software
systems, and managed DoD business development, marketing and sales.
From 1998 to 1999, RADM Johnson was
Project Director, Navy Year 2000 Project, Office of the Chief of
Naval Operations. There he developed and managed the U.S. Navy's
overall strategic planning, assessment, testing and continuity of
operations and consequence management strategy to address the Year
2000 Faulty Date Logic Problem across the Navy enterprise. As Program
Director, Information Support Systems, Space and Naval Warfare Systems
Command, 1996 to 1998, RADM Johnson supervised 4 Major Program Managers,
12 Programs, 110 personnel and the execution of a $250M annual budget
providing Information Technology systems to Navy Fleet and shore
activities. RADM Johnson also served concurrently from 1996 to 1997
as Commander Naval Information Systems Management Center, providing
overall procurement and acquisition policy direction for Information
Management for the Department of the Navy. Prior to selection to
Flag Rank in 1995. RADM Johnson served as Major Program Manager
for Submarine Electronic Systems/New Attack Submarine (VIRGINIA
Class) Command and Control System from 1994 to 1996.
RADM Johnson holds a BS in Physics from
Duke University, is a graduate of the Defense Systems Management
College and is certified and served as a Department of Defense Major
Program Manager (Level III). He resides in San Diego, California.
